I always try this one.

1. Unplug the AC.
2. Press and hold the power button for 60 seconds.
3. Release
4. Apply AC
5. Try again.

We did see the reset buttons vanish over time.

I know you are stressed about your PC troubles but I hope this simple procedure helps. It beats taking it to the shop.

Let's hope you don't have a power on/off button (like Data on STNG) but your PC does!
