Turn off remote management. There is of course the ISP which is allowed to touch the thing. And then you have all sorts of bugs in firmware that could lead folk to think they were hacked. For example I had this router that I would change a setting yet it always seemed to show I never changed it. But it was working in spite of the bug.
I can imagine if someone else saw that they could think they were hacked.
