Hackers accessing your PC & Laptop through your email accoun

Mar 30, 2016 11:15AM PDT

Question: how do they keep getting in through Outlook & Gmail? Did the hackers work on a contract for MS or/and Google? Do they have the “keys to the machine”?

Background on hacks into my PC:
My PC & Laptop & IPhone were all hacked by people going in through the outlook and gmail email accounts.
They were email accounts that you “add” to your Microsoft Account or email “inbox” in MS 10
The hackers seem to be able to “crack” password also hack your google accounts for email accounts easily.
So set up your email to text your iphone a code in order to log in to the email.
Important, Delete the email accounts from your MicroSoft Account & do not use the mail “in box”. Set up a “local” account for sign in purposes so that you do not have to sign in through your Microsoft account name, then you can de-link that email from your MS account in the accounts tab under the “Settings” in the start button.
Once you have been hacked, Only access your email by logging in through a secure browser as you would any other web site.
These hackers will also hack your google mail account too, and can get access to anything liked with that google account.

Well first of all Outlook is software and your

password is stored on the email server and you use outlook to access that. Gmail has an app or you can access by a web browser. But the thing with both of these accounts most people use their MS account for Outlook and the Windows store. People also use their Google account when using Chrome. Using these accounts allows for syncing of emails and updateing of apps. There are many ways for people to get your passwords. If your password is in the top 20 most common passwords thats probably the easiest way.

yes, but could ATT Router be hacked.

my passwords are long strings of random letters and numbers. hackers get in to my email and PC anyway.

I think they have a "backdoor" to the router, as when I log into ATT I never see their device on the list with all my devices that I do know.

To figure out why you and not me

I'd have to see you and your PC first hand. I've lost count of machines with such claims and find malware, trojans, torrents, cracks or worse.

Here's the thing. We (the computer user) remain the best security. I continue to find many users that just don't know enough to be safe. Even I find myself learning more as time goes on.

So what did I learn? Don't install apps without a good reason. Don't click on email links, don't torrent, and get some protection. I don't mean Norton or Mcafee but scan with Grif's help and bolster your web security with Web Of Trust and adblockers (I'm using Ublock Origin now.)
