H340 US VERSION VIDEO CAPABILITY

May 16, 2005 10:20PM PDT

I have read lots of chat saying that iRiver's H320/40 have video play capability. One posting states that this only possible on the international version and not the version available in the US.

Can the H10 20gb US play video?

Can anyone confirm or dispell this information. I am very close to purchasing the h340, h10 20GB, or iAudio x5 and would appreciate any advice.

firmware update

the H320 and 40 have a firmware update for video, but i suggest the Cowon iAudio X5. It can play video and is slimmer than the H320/40 series. The H10 is a nice player in it's 5GB version, but a little bit of a rip off compared in it's 20 or 30 GB version compared to the cowon because it can't play video.

Go with X5

The h3xx series can play video with an international firmware, but it does supposedly void your warranty. I suggest though that you go with X5, because it can handle more frame rated, so should have better video quality.

IRIVER H320 or IAUDIO X5?

I am also unsure of which to buy. It's true that the X5 has more fps than the H320 but the screen quality is much better on the H320.
