Ubiquiti
Ruckus
And of course https://www.google.com/#q=wifi+for+hotel
You didn't broach the subject of if you were charging for such and more but the names do sell the gear for you to self install. Support would be from them but it is possible for a network savvy person to get basic wifi services.
Again, the gear is out there.
Now there is a trap that you must avoid. Folk will want tech support over things like my WiFi won't turn on and more. At most you can show them your laptops work but must avoid the tar pit that is a Windows PC.
hi all,
I've been tasked with taking our family run hotel into the 21st century by updating their ethernet ready rooms to have wifi instead.
we are at the stage where we have paid for fibre optic installed and a cisco 2921 LAN router set up, for the purpose of providing wireless, we just dont want to pay £9000 to BT for the actual wireless stage of the project, as you can imagine!
now what i preferably would like to use is the preinstalled ethernet cables instead of fitting new PoE for the access points. so for example taking one cable from a room and placing it in the hallway with an AP on the ceiling providing wifi to 2/3 small rooms, and more AP's where needed for larger rooms etc.
im just not sure if this is actually possible or if need to go ahead and get a wireless N unified service router, a smart switch for the Poe and poe access points.
some guidance would be appreciated!
