I usually see (hear) this happen with onboard sound cards. The fix is to fit a PCI sound card and see if it vanishes.
If you feel you shouldn't have to do that, then make it a warranty issue with the machine's maker.
I had asked about this before and got some reponses, but nothing ever helped.
Whenever I have the Windows Media Player operating (playing CD for example) and I try to scroll in the browser (IE or Firefox), I get a distortion in the audio with a dragging/scratching/grinding-type sound.
Can anybody tell me a way to stop this? It did not always occur before.
Powerspec 8705, 40GB, XP/SP2, Verizon DSL. The hard-drive is only about 1/4 full
