Must be bugs in the system

Griff for some unknown reason I received an "activity notice" in my email regarding this post (the version in "tips for...). I found it strange because I couldn't remember having subscribed to a post of this nature (any post really) and was even more surprised when I followed the link and viewed it. There is no way I would have done this as the post was clearly marked to your attention, and neither do I recollect subscribing to any other posting in the "tips for newbies"

Sorry Griff. Just got confused with the forums.
I was panicing. Anyway went into the recycle bin to restore the two .chk files. when I restored the 1st one it said that there was already a file of that name in the folder. I think windows must have made a new file.
I went to look before restoring the ones from the recyle bin. Start/run/.chk but it would not let me in, its now saying windows cant find ".chk".
I then restored the 2 files from the recycle bin and rebooted as you suggested. All appears to be fine now.
One good thing. I found the newbies tips forum and its just brilliant.
Thanks again maggs
