Greyed margin guide in Word print layout view

Apr 12, 2005 6:36AM PDT

Win XPPro Word 2002

All of a sudden Word documents in print layout view show grey markings at the corners of the page which obviously indicate the margins. I've been using Word 2002 for three years and this only started this week. I can't think of anything I've done to make it happen, and I can't find where to turn it off. It's a small matter, really, and I can live with it, but it bugs me when things like this appear to happen at random and be out of my control. Any advice appreciated.

Setting?
Apr 12, 2005 6:08PM PDT

In Word XP, I go to Tools>Options>View tab.
Then under the heading 'Options for Print lay-out and web-layout' there's a checkbox for 'Boundaries' (and 4 others).

I've got a Dutch version, so my translation might be inexact, and in a later version of Word details might be different, but I think this is the place to start looking.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately, none of those options work. I've tried most of the solutions I can think of in the Tools menu. Does anyone else have these grey markings at the corners of the page where the margins are in Print Layout View?

Thanks again

Please let me know if you figured out a way to solve this. I've been banging my head against the wall trying to get rid of those annoying markers.

Tools>Options>View. Then Print or Web Layout Options.
Uncheck Text Boundaries ?
