Android like other OSes gets updates and such. You can factory reset it but my bet is that you'll get it back.

Android isn't infallible just because it's built on Linux.
Go figure...
Restore it to factory specs and be done with it...

Answer
could be updating
Aug 31, 2015 1:37PM PDT

without knowing what type of device you are talking about, it could be that something is updating. Let it go for a while, no more than an hour and see what happens.

Answer
try wiping the cache partition
Sep 1, 2015 1:39AM PDT

try wiping the cache partition. It will not affect your settings or data.

Press and hold the Power/Lock key, tap Power off, and then tap OK to turn off the tablet.
Press and hold the Power/Lock key and Up Volume key at the same time.
Release the Power/lock key when the Samsung logo appears.
Release the Up Volume keys when the Android image appears.
When the menu appears, press the Down Volume key to select Wipe cache partition.
Press the Power/Lock key.
Once the message, “Cache wipe complete” appears on the screen below the menu, Press the Power/Lock key to select Reboot system now.
