Question

"GreenBrowser" Won't Render intellicast.com

Aug 12, 2013 11:22AM PDT

I've recently began using a new browser known as "Greenbrowser".I so far actually LOVE this thing. It's very fast. And,very lightweight. It does seem to have (some) quirks (like no rel help to spek of).Which is why I'm here.
Even with this cnet page I'm getting a scripting error (a thing I really know NOTHING about). But,at least after I refreshed the page once I was able to make this post.
I'm wondering if anyone can help with this scripting error problem. It appears to be interfering with one of the websites I visit (This time it's not porn.Ha,ha.).The website is intellicast.com.It simply will not render the page.
When I first attempt to open the page via either a bookmark or a link,it comes up as a blank white page. And,the same blank white page appears if I click refresh.BUT...if I highlight the address & click the "go" button,I at least get some text on the page. But,fro some reason, the page simply will not render properly with this browser.
Onthe status bar on the bottom of the browser there is a triangular, yellow icon that gives me script error info if I click on it.But,I have no idea what to do with that info.I would love to learn about this if anyone can help. All FOUR of my other browsers render this page fine (yes,I said FOUR) He,he.
Thanks-any/all help !!

Such issues are best sent back to the author or maintainer of the app.

I looked into sending the author an email & that option seems to not exist any longer. Also, tried joining the browsers forum and you would not believe the problem that I ran into just trying to do that ! I looked around & others have had the same problem just trying to join the forum ! Sad

Try changing the "User Agent" string? I was surprised how many websites let you in if you do this!

Gordon-I've looked into this & though this browser is built around IE rendering engine, there seems to be a few differences. One being...I cannot find how to do what you are suggesting.I compared it with IE and had no problem. And,from what I've read, even if I were able to change the agent string, that is only a temporary fix ? It supposedly reverts to default with the next session ?

It usually reverts to default with the next session.

I would have thought that a modern browser shell would have quick simple user-agent changing. OTOH, ...

Suppose you had to choose between 2 browsers to visit a certain site:
1. Very fast, very lightweight, doesn't work for that site.
2. Somewhat slower, somewhat heavierweight, works fine for that site.

I know what to choose. Do you?
