Usually a green screen indicates that the output is set to a different signal. For instance, when the settings are set to HDMI, but the unit is hooked up via component, a green screen can be the resulting picture image.
If the cable/sat box works, the DVD player may be suspect. If you try a different input and it works, then it's likely the DVD player on the fritz. If another input is also black and white and no settings can change that, the unit may require service.
I have recently purchased a Samsung LE37b530pLCD TV. I have been trying to hook up a DVD player through the component sockets. I have tried 3 DVD players but they are all giving me a green screen on the TV. I have tried changing output on the DVD players to RGB but this just gives me a black & white picture. (Ihave only video, SVideo & video to choose from on the DVD players.
The DVD players work fine on my other Hannspree LCD TV so I know it's not the leads. However my SKY cable box does work fine through component leads to the Samsung.
Is there any way I can hook up a DVD player to the Samsung using component cables as I am short of inputs. I am already using the 1 scart & AV sockets. My SKY box and PC are connected to 2 of the HDMI inputs on my TV.
