I would have liked to see the whole conversation. Donahue's comment seemed to be a question about social ills and I'm not quite sure whether Friedman addressed the question, or used it as an opportunity to push his own agenda.

Still, capitalism is about opportunity, and I am not aware of any political/economic system that offers more opportunity... when all dealings are transparent and out in the open. Of course, it's the back room dealings that always tilt the system in favor of one interest or another.
