It looks great - thanks for the link.

Have you ever found when people, (be they book writers, magazines or geeks), try to help you with computer issues they either:
1) Talk to you in such simplistic terms they insult your intelligence ? Or, .....
2) They race across the keyboard at warp speed and then say something really brilliant like, ''see that's all there is too it''. (right... I really understood all 25 key strokes it took you 10 seconds to make !)
I've found the same holds true in Linux circles as well. Either you're treated like a complete fool, or they talk so far over your head with their ''techno-babble'' that you just say the ''hell with it.''
Let's face it, most of us who are ''Linux Investigators'' don't need to be told what a Hard Drive is. Or how to activate an installed program. Most of us have years of experience running Windows, and, feel very comfortable with Windows and computers in general. So why spend half a Linux book explaining what a ''desktop'' is ?
Well the good news is that someone has heard our cries ! By chance I came across this first rate on-line magazine for ''Linux Drivers'' instead of ''Linux Mechanics''.
http://www.tuxmagazine.com/
It's a super on-line Linux Magazine in that it treats you like an knowledgeable Windows user, who is looking for some generalized ''hand holding'' as you navigate the Linux waters. It's neither too simplistic, nor, too complex in their writings and explanations. I think you'll be glad you gave it a try.
(And by the way, I AM NOT ASSOCIATED with this magazine in any form or fashion !! )
