Great camcorder, but should I have purchased a mini-dv?

by kaj7979 / January 10, 2007 1:14 PM PST

I recently purchased a sony dcr sr100 30gb hd camcorder. I love it, but it saves in mpg2 format, and I am wondering if this is not creating a problem for mild video editing in adobe premiere elements. If I simply open the program in premiere elements, it plays and I can work with it, but it is extremely blurry and shaky, and distorted. I know mpg2 is not he best format for editing, but I am only doing mild editing (i.e., putting scenes together.) Is there a work-around, or am I out of luck?

Are you sure this isn't just a function of the PC you're using? What's the spec?
