Graphics Driver Upgrade For Hotwheels Game

Jan 11, 2005 5:49AM PST

My son got a HotWheels PC game for Christmas. Everytime I try to launch it, the hardware check fails with the following message:

Graphics
NVIDIA Vanta/Vanta LT - nv4_disp.dll
Hardware OK.
Hardware FAILED. 0 1 1348864

In the ReadMe file it lists compatible graphics cards and the web site you can visit to upgrade (if you don't have one). I went to http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp and downloaded 66.93_win2kxp_english.exe. I then launched this and followed all the prompts, but when I reboot and try the game it finds the old driver.

Does anyone know why this driver upgrade doesn't appear to work? Am I doing the right thing here? Should I be able to upgrade to the appropriate driver this way?

I (and my son!) appreciate all help.
