Graphics card upgrade?

Jul 20, 2010 1:22AM PDT

Hey,

I've got a Dell Inspiron 1545 Laptop. When I bought it several years ago I had no idea about graphics cards etc.. so didn't bother looking into upgrading before I purchased it.

Now, two years later I'm sitting here playing good games SLOWLY (Even on low graphics settings).

I've been told that I can't change my graphics card as it's intergrated into the motherboard.
So my question to you guys is - Are there any external graphics cards? If yes, what are some decent ones that are available?

Specs you might need to know?-

Windows 7 Ultimate, 3GB Ram, Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T6400 @ 2.00GHz
(No idea if that's the info you need for my question but if not tell me what to tell you & how to find it so I can reply thanks =]

No... There are no external video cards. At least not any that won't make your integrated graphics look extremely good by comparison.

Let this be a lesson on why laptops are HORRIBLE gaming platforms. Either get yourself a desktop for gaming or some sort of console. Your choice between a portable like the DS or PSP or a home console like the 360, PS3, or Wii, or some combination of all of them. Laptops are great for many things, but gaming just isn't one of them and it never will be.

I wouldn't write never.

For a price you can play games on laptops but the desktops and consoles still win for the money.

My nephew has the game pegged. It's some console and a subscription to gamefly. What it paid in 3 years is less than a gamer's laptop by about 10 times.
