Graphics Apps Running Slow Under Vista

Mar 8, 2007 4:17AM PST

We just got a new Dell C521 running Vista home premium. The computer is a relatively fast machine (A64 X2 3800+, 1GB RAM, Radeon X1300), so I was shocked when even simple Flash games ran slow on it. I think it might be an issue with old video drivers (I think it's Catalyst version 7.1; is this version compatible with Vista?). Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I forgot to mention...

...I have not tried installing any non-online games on it; I'm afraid to see how they'll run. Also, it is even rather slow at displaying online video. I'm using Firefox 2.0 with all the updates, but I've experienced similar problems in IE 7. Once again, thanks in advance for all suggestions

Go to the ATI site and download the newest version of Catalyst 7.2. It might make a difference.
