graphic card upgrade

I have a Sony came with ATI x300 graphic card, for upgrade and budget reason, I would like to switch to PNY GeForce 7300 GT 256 MB PCI-E , I am an old passion light gamer, but I watch TV and video often on computer. Does anyone can provide some ideas about the switch?
