Question

Graphic card for Sony Vaio SVE17135CXB?

Sep 11, 2017 4:38AM PDT

Hello,

I am trying to find a replacement part for the graphic card of a Vaio SVE17135CXB. It is not attached to the mother board so I assume someone out there is selling it. The numbers shown on the card are the following:

i(M)(c)10 SR0V0
J233C810

35225162A
2810

I recently moved to France so the search got a little bit harder with the language barrier.

I hope someone can help me out; any suggestions for online stores that could have it in stock? or should I stop looking for it because it is impossible to find it Wink ?

Thanks!

That seems a question for Sony's tech support. I can't find the model number on their French site, so you might have to contact the support in the country you bought it.

I looked up this model and it uses the HD Graphics 4000.

That means there is no graphics "card" but the Intel HD Graphics 4000 which is in the CPU.

You might be looking at some interface parts to/from the LCD or video ports but there is no GPU, only the Intel HD Graphics 4000 which is part of the CPU.

Since it doesn't have a GPU and no graphics card, this is why you can't find them.

thank you. Suggestion?

I believe the problem is the graphic card because the computer turns on but the screen does not. I have tried connecting it to an external screen... no results. any thoughts?

Therefore, I would have to change the entire CPU which I assume it costs a fortune. Might as well get a new laptop?

Thanks again

That's the usual result.

As you have this laptop you have an advantage over what I can find on the web. That is, you claim there is some board but the numbers are not found so I can't check out what they are. That means I have to guess it's some interface board or something else. It is not a graphics card as this model used the CPU's HD 4000.

There are a lot of reasons for a blank screen but costly to find out which it is this time.

Did you try the cheapest part it can possibly be? (Hint: CMOS battery.)

As you are into PC repair I will assume you have the basic Volt Ohm Meter or VOM. How many Volts is the CMOS battery?

And yes, sometimes folk get in over their heads and want folk to tell them what part or chip to replace. On a forum we can't get to chip level for a lot of reasons. First, most folk don't have the necessary surface mount solder station and second the chips are usually impossible to find.

I'll supply a video on the rework station required but as you know, it's not a sure fix. The reason we try is because it's worth the gamble. Some folk don't understand this.

My advice is to sell it as-is and get another.

Watch the rework video next.
