You can download Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and 123free Solitaire from http://www.123freesolitaire.com/ . 123free Solitaire has a free version that I like and it runs just fine in desktop mode under Windows 8. If you still have the old hard drive, you can retrieve your bookmarks from it by putting it into a $30 enclosure and plugging it into a USB port. The bookmarks with Windows 7 can be found in the bookmarksbackup folder which is in <span id="INSERTION_MARKER">C:\Users\yourid\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\pzxjkcxn.default. <span>`
<span> Good luck.
Ok...this won't be new to anyone most likely,Bought a Samsung lap top(don't ask which one cause I can't even find computer info on this thing) course it came with W8.Last computer I had I managed to keep that thing up and running for 10 yrs, only one new motherboard placed in it, Sorry...I'm wandering.
At any rate....Windows 8 is the most frustrating thing I've ever encountered and even though I'm no computer master...I could operate 7 without all the stress. I have Googled my brains out and I've read the Help.
Here's a question. I took the new lap top in to "my" regular computer guy and he took all my stuff off old hard drive. After days of nearly pulling all my hair out(he did give me a start button) I called and asked if he could take my Windows version and Firefox version off the old hard drive and place on this lap top. He says "no" I'd have to "buy" a version and license it which may be true I guess. Is it true??? I get this thing back and he says he can't retrieve my old Firefox bookmarks...in other words I just lost all of them...trust me..I did find my files and that one isn't on here. You would have thought he would have saved that somewhere and I didn't save it myself cause I thought it was pretty self explanatory...who "wants" to lose their bookmarks???
I googled just how to download Solitaire from the Windows store(yes,I know that they don't download their own games...least not the ones I want) and played it and then next time...nothing...loads and won't come up. Found a utube that told you just how to do it and I followed it to the letter. All my husband wants to play is Solitaire and he's not getting it that I've done all I know to do.
Ok...I've vented......that's all I know to do....I'd just like out of this nightmare and back to sanity without costing myself an arm and a leg...hahaha....yeah...that'll happen. Seems the Microsoft geniuses have had their way...oh well.
