Grainy Online Video

Most of the videos I watch online are very grainy and heard to see much detail. Is this just the nature of beast or do I need a better video card. I have intel 82915G/GV/910GL with 64MB Mem, 1G of ram, Pentium 4 processor 3Ghz. This is gateway 509GE using a Dell CRT monitor Windows XP
