Question

grahics upgrade for old system

Oct 21, 2015 6:39PM PDT

Hi.
I have an old dell vostro430 PC.
The GPU is currently geforce 310. I want to move to Windows 10 but Nvidia doesn't appear to be updating the GPU drivers to do this. So I though if anyone could tell me of a compatable GPU to my current set up and W10 supported it would be appreciated. My mobo is N1996, and have a 350W power supply the CPU is 2.80 Intel Core i7 64bit and have 8GB ram.
I would like to find a compatible GPU that has W10 support.
I understand that many will say buy a new system, but it is sufficient for my needs. I don't game. I would like to continue with support from Microsoft for the OS and moving to W10 especialy when its free would enable this.
Thanks

Never has been.

The video memory on cards has never had to match what's on the CPU memory system.

In short we have a GPU and it's memory.
And a CPU with it's memory.
Doesn't have to be the same type.
