Gradual Loss of RAM as computer is running.

Jun 10, 2006 6:49AM PDT

When starting my computer the TBC Pro program displays in the title bar of the program I'm running on my computer from 700 - 800 MB of RAM available for use. As I use my computer over several hours the displayed RAM drops to 500 - 600 MB. If I continue using my computer it will drop to as low as 475 MB.

If I shut down and restart, it returns to the 700-800 MB of RAM

At start up, I'm running 11 programs on a Dell D41XLM81 model computer with a Windows XP Pro SP2 OS. The computer's CPU is a dual processor Intel Pentium 4 3.00 GHz Family 15 Model 4 Stepping 3. My RAM is 1046 MB with a swap file size of 350728 KB. The BIOS is a Dell-6 Phoenix ROM Bios Plus Version 1.10 AOO.

I'm wondering what could be stealing my RAM or is that the way the TBC Pro program works?

Seems proper.

Windows as well as other virtual memory operating systems should have zero bytes free when operating proper.

Depending on what the processes are that you are running there can be lots of different reasons for the leaks but generally over time a computer will consume more and more RAM as various programs run.
