Hi:
I tried formatting my GPX MW3837 MP3 player to solve some erratic errors last night. Windows XP made it FAT32 which it didn't like.
I read to change it to FAT(16) and it is a 'brick' now; well, it's a flash drive now...I last the 'hidden' files that basically serve as an operating system, boot program, whatever.
Yes, it's outdated & low-tech...but the challenge is there, to try and find the files and folder structure from another user & try loading them back in (assuming that since I could SEE them with Windows XP 'show hidden files' they were resident in accessible memory address space.
I was silly enough to ask GPX if those files could be downloaded. They informed me that once I formatted it, my music was GONE! I'm glad they told me that ;O). I should tell them it's now a video player; I can sit and stare at it all day and it stares back.
Anyway,is anyone with a (DPI) GPX MW3837 or maybe MW3827 or MW3847 willing to take a peek with 'show hidden files' enabled and
A) describe the file folder structure to me (I noticed about 4 files that were .prp type). I can only assume there was no other code structure in non-accessible address space.
and
B) Forward those files to me in the interest of hack research?
Thank you
Murray
