GPU for AMD FX-4100

Jul 4, 2017 11:01AM PDT

With an FX-4100 (at 3.6ghz I think, I don't have access to the PC right now) and 8GB of ram, would a GTX 1050 bottleneck?
I want to play games like CS:GO, Overwatch, Mirror's Edge : Catalyst and TF2 at high (not max) settings in 1080p at 60fps.
If it did bottleneck, would I be better off with a GT 1030?

Why would it?

Long ago Tomshardware shared that a trio of GPUs would not bottleneck on a second gen Core i5.

As to those games and framerates, you'll have to do some research.

That's all well, but I've heard bad things about the FX-4100 being terrible for bottlenecks.

Show me what you got?

It appears you have something and want to move forward. It's a sure bet that putting ancient cards like the 730 would result in an unhappy experience.

That cpu is not exactly a power house.

Look up the reqs for each game you want to play.

You should be able to tell if that cpu will be a little light.
