I need advise...
Can I run an AMD Radeon R9 290 graphic card on my MSI G41-p26 motherboard?

Someone told me the slot will take it but it might burn out my motherboard? Is this true?

power supply would be more affected by a GPU then a motherboard. I mean motherboards and GPU's are standard with todays technology. The issue is do you have enough power to power the GPU?

That's a 300w card.

It won't be a problem for your mobo but your psu won't handle it.

Shop for a 750+w single rail psu.

The problem is the PCIe slot generation 1 and the card is using generation 3 . PCIe slots are backwards compatible not the lanes, so you cannot .
