GPS newbie, driving around Los Angeles for a day...

May 7, 2008 5:35AM PDT

Hello!

I'm considering purchasing an in-car GPS unit for an up-coming trip to the west coast this summer. We plan to take a day and drive around the LA area. Head up to Hollywood, thru Beverly Hills, then out to Santa Monica, then back to Anaheim (with some stops in between).

I'm comfortable enough finding my way around, but I'd like some back-up (especially if traffic gets heavy, etc.), so I've gotten the OK from my better half to look at getting us a GPS unit.

So -- I have literally no experience or knowledge of GPS units, I can use all the help I can get.

Size isn't really important, so anything small or really freaking huge is fine with me. I don't want to spend a ton of money, as we won't use it much.

I want to be able to plug in several addresses/intersections to plot the trip out -- is that possible (or is it just a point A to point B sort of thing)?

Thanks!
