Try it. It's a new machine and now's the time to learn how to wipe the hard disk and install from those restore CDs.
What a better time to test that the restore CDs work. You don't want to find out later.

My question is I have is twofold. Since the processor is 64 bit should I install a 64 bit version of a Linux distro or would I be missing out on some items?
-I looked around and it looks like just flash and some multimedia functionality
Also I want to make those hard drive SATA, and it seems to be more difficult to make it dual boot Linux with Windows in SATA?
Thanks in advance!
