Google Earth autoupdater

Feb 6, 2009 7:24PM PST

What, auto installing a launchd system daemon just to run an update program? This is an outrage! Usually don't find apps being this rude on OS X. Why can't they just use the sparkle framework for autoupdating like most OS X programs. http://sparkle.andymatuschak.org/
It's easy enough to remove the Updater program and the launchd plist file. And then you start Google Earth and it just replaces and reinstalls the updater! ***!
In the launchd plist file I changed the key RunAtLoad to false. This seems to be all I can do to stop evil Google.
Thanks for bringing this story up guys!
