There are 2 things you need to know.
1. Ninite. Read more at:

Chrome is there without the toolbars, etc.
2. Grif. Yes, Grif. Here's his recipe for scanning for the things we don't want.

I wish it was only a Chrome problem.
Bob
I recently downloaded the free Google Chrome. I also use Explorer, Firefox and Advent. Unlike the others, on about the 3rd to 5th tab I kept getting 'virus alerts' and all tabs would freeze, presumably until I called a 1-877 #. The only way to escape is "End Process" via "Task Manager". Of course, anything earlier I had opened would be lost.
Meanwhile, I (Control Panel) "Uninstalled" it, then downloaded a fresh Chrome from Google. Hopefully that will correct the problem.
I wonder if anyone else has encountered such a problem? What did you do to fix that? Thanks! RS
