While I might go with http://superuser.com/questions/503489/chrome-doesnt-start-in-windows-8-gives-an-error-message-class-not-registered for the fix, I wonder if you tried that.
Also, there are less than safe places to get Chrome so get it from Google or at ninite.com.
Can't open it. When click on the Google icon on my desk top, a message box says, "Program Files (X86) Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe
Class not registered
Please help!
