It happened to an acquaintance whose choice turned out to be an offensive word in another language. How google did it was likely some web control panel that they went clickity click click and changed it.
There is an outside chance that something else is going on. Another buddy was upset over the name they saw in Outlook. We were able to fix that one.

I have a gmail account that I used for years. Now gmail has somehow changed the name of my account completely. I also have a blog which had a specific name to enter the site.
It is now totally different and if I delete the gmail that is now on the blog, google says that my blog will be deleted.
It is very frustrating, but how did google do that?
I'd like to cancel that gmail completely without deleting my blog...kindly advise.
