General discussion

google analytics!

Aug 10, 2007 10:48PM PDT

Hello, I just finished my website, and I know how to install google analytics in it, but my website has a english version and a spanish version.
So by typing the domain name, www.studios29.com you get to a page that lets you choose the language and then the spanish version is
www.studios29.com/esp
and the english version
www.studios29.com/eng

So, if I want to get separate information from both versions of the site, do I just create 2 profiles things, with 2 different tracking codes?
what about the default page in my domain, the one that let's me choose the language?

Thanks, Marcelo.

It would probably

be a good idea to have two trackers, but I don't know if the code would clash and create problems... unless you use two different trackers. Or you use one tracker, and you can tell which language creates more hits based on the eng/esp folder.

I have the directions and code for Google Analytics, but I lost my Webmaster, an I don't know how to insert it in the body on each page.

I have a Compaq Presario PC desktop
Adobe CS3 Contribute
Windows Vista Pemium

Thanks for your help.

What that means is

somewhere in your HTML document, find the <body> and the </body> tag. Place the code somewhere in between those two tags. I would suggest placing it right before </body> tag, that way you can find it easily. By the way, you have to open your HTML documents in a program like notepad, so you will see the code instead of the actual content/design.

Sovereign,
Thanks for your reply. I discovered that I have to go to "Insert" and thenn "Insert Snippet" first, but my Administrator disabled it. It looks like I have to get him to turn over the website to me. I am looking for a Website technical maintenance administrator. I can post articles after I write content, but I need someone who knows Adobe CS3 to help me through these little nuances.
If you know anyone, please let me know.
Thanks, Carole
