Good XP Backup Software For Home Computers

by mjchrisler / August 23, 2004 7:15 AM PDT

Just looking for a relatively unexpensive automated backup program for my home computer, any ideas? I've tried a few, but none seem to work. Let me know. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Part of "backup" is that you carry the files out of and away from the machine. So that means you need to determine what backup medium you can carry away. You didn't tell what tape unit you have or what your predeliction towards such is.

Look up "Norton Ghost" that's what I use. You can back anything up you would need.

software for a while now. I had trouble with it on my latest hardware, but found an updated version on the web (/ which resolved the problem. I have used it to back up to hard disk, CD, and DVD.

I looked recently to see what else is available, but found nothing in either Bestbuy or CompUSA.

A little problemo with BackUp MyPC by Stomp

They never supplied a fix for those that installed the Intel Accelerator software. Great selection of BackUpMyPC, but they seem to have fizzled on fixing that issue.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
