Good time to buy laptop? Or wait for Windows 8?

I was planning to buy an Asus N56VZ-DS71 but the day I went to buy the retailer's website said "final clearance". This made me think that there might be a flood of new laptops after windows 8... but would they be worth waiting for?

I don't particularly want windows 8, but I'd certainly wait if it meant getting something better for the money, or the same thing for a reduced price.

Your choice.

I don't expect prices to drop but this question does get asked everytime. Think back to the days of Vista to 7. Here there was no big deal.

Well Microsoft is

allowing laptops purchased now to be upgraded to Windows 8 for $14. But expect the new Windows 8 pc's to be more expensive because of the touch screens. Acer announced their first Windows 8 laptop which is 13" and will sell for 1400.

Whenever it's says

clearance it's priced to sell and the next version won't be on clearance.
