Good quality but cheap laptop

by Samurrai / July 3, 2010 10:15 AM PDT

I am a student and need a very capable laptop. I am also looking for something fairly cheap. However, it must be from a good manufacturer who is tested and true. Any ideas?

Well, I am looking to spend approx. $600-800 on this laptop. I am not looking for much of a gaming machine at all, but I do listen to a lot of music and wach a lot of movies on my computer.

Take a trip to Costco and look at the Hp g62 offers there. I'm on the office supplied g62-149wm but am waiting for a bios and driver update before I write it's fine. It's a great value but it locked up a few times and it looks to be the bios or driver.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
