Good Laser Printer for Printing Envelopes ???

by edolexa / November 16, 2006 11:42 PM PST

I'm looking for a good laser printer for printing envelopes. I don't print a lot of envelopes but it is important for me not to have to go through an annoying procedure just to print an envelope.

Has anyone out there had good experiences printing envelopes with a specific laser printer? Please let me know. I'm looking somewhere in the $175 - $275 range.

Thanks in Advance,

Any HP worked for me.

However I don't have an answer to the annoying part. Consider that Microsoft Word bug they shipped out that had the orientation shown one way on the screen but it printed another way on the printers. I don't see how selecting the "right" printer could help with that.

There is also that issue with putting a dent into the toner rollers when we run envelopes. NO laser printer is immune to that. At least with the HP the issue is muted since with each cartridge change we get new rollers.

I don't see where you can wrong buying a decent laser printer. Most support envelope printing. However, if you get into heavy envelope printing, expect problems as it will cause wear&tear unique to its paper path. I suggest you look into HP and Okidata models for best performance and operation w/o great hassles. Minotola aas well. I won't settle for the cheapest out there, but some HP models in the under $200 range have performed very well in office enviroments.

Printing envelops
by gnclark / June 17, 2011 3:29 AM PDT

I would second the inquiry. I have a brother 3070CW, which is great for general printing, but not worth diddly for printing envelops. It can easily take 5 minutes per envelop, and erroneous error messages about non-existent paper jams distract. There are two levers in back that make it work better with MS Word; however, it still does not work with or certain other software.
I formerly had an HP 1300 L, which worked very well in printing envelops. I would consider a laser printer dedicated to only envelops, if one exists.
