General discussion

good digital cameras with AA batteries

Mar 8, 2010 8:34AM PST

Hi,

I am looking to buy a good digital camera. My only specifications are SD memory, good optical zoom and AA batteries. I was seriously considering Nikon Coolpix L110 and P100 but they require 4 AA batteries and are a little expensive. I had a Canon Powershot SX100 till last month until I lost it at an Auto Show! Sad . So, I am looking to buy something similar. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ash

If you were satisfied with the Canon SX100,
How about the newer Canon SX120IS?

not really

The graininess you are referring to is the camera producing noise in higher ISO settings. This will be the case for most cameras, especially the lower budget range. Some do slightly better than other, with the exception of some of the older Fuji and current cameras with the Exmor-R backlit sensors. The cameras with the Exmor-R are much pricier than the SX120. Unless you increase your budget, you'll just have to live with some of the compromises.
