I can slow down that boot in no time. The office supplied me with the similar y510p and it's boot time is below one minute depending on the startup configuration.
Yup, you are looking at a laptop gamer.

I got an email for this deal from Lenovo: http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/lenovo/y-series/y40-80/?sb=:000001C9:00013DDF:&cid=us:display:y23hrv&dfaid=1&utm_source=Newsletter&utm_medium=Email&utm_campaign=ign-deals
and on paper it looks pretty awesome. I really don't game on pc (console and mobile) but the power in this laptop seems very impessive for the price. At the moment, all I need are a few simple things:
1. minimal boot time: i'm between spots a lot with work so waiting 3 minutes for each boot (even just from hibernation) really cuts my productivity.
2. raw processing power: I do upload some gameplay that I do to youtube and the rendering takes a very long time with my current laptop. I'd like to cut that down if I can so I can do it more often, but if I were to get this laptop I'd want to be able to upgrade the RAM. how would I even find out if this was possible?
3. battery life: The power of this laptop is going to cut battery life, but I think the power and price would be a fair trade off
4. weight: I definitely lose in this area as my current laptop weighs half a pound less than this one, but again the power-to-cost value is there so it might be worth the trade.
All I really do on my computer is render videos and teach myself web development. But I'm really bad about chasing specs, so I want t laptop that can perform at a high level for a very long time. Does anyone else agree that this laptop fits the bill for such a great price? or am I mistaken/missing a better deal somewhere else?
