Good AMD Athlon notebook

I will be going to college this fall and was looking for a good laptop hopefully under $2000 (a little over is ok).

I was looking at AMD Athlon 64 but I could not find any good notebooks. I was looking at the HP Pavillion zv6000 but I found out that the graphics card isn't so good.

I will be using this for word processing, engineering programs later on and also gaming (NFS:underground 2 and most wanted,GTA: VC and SA)

The notebook needs to be atleast 15.4" with 1GB RAM and hopefully a DVD-R or better.

Do you guys have any sugesstions?

Thankyou in advance.

The stories about service and spares on those make and models never end. These are names I would never suggest to anyone.

Sorry about that, just calling it was I see it.
