Question

Go wireless on PS3? How to?

Jun 17, 2011 8:49PM PDT

Im currently using my Playstation 3 in another room on a small set and want to use it on my living room flat screen. I know PS3 has wifi capabilities BUT, my internet is connected to my modem , which is connected to a phone jack(?) and Im guessing i need to pick up a wireless modem with wifi capabilities? Or is it called a wirelesss modem router? Not sure. Thanks in advance for any help. Not sure if it helps but , Im using AT&T internet. Im looking not to break the bank on just going wifi with my modem...lol

HDMI WIRELESS to see possible solutions.

It's a shame the solutions tend to run as much as a second PS3.

I have yet to need a wireless router to implement WIRELESS HDMI. Your reply makes me think you did not do your research for the product and costs in your country for this.

your right there i looked into this a while back when i still had my Ps3 and you do need a wireless router and you need to set up your security settings as well so that no one can hack into your connection.

WIRELESS HDMI does not use Wifi routers or connections.

But you are right. Keep the security tight on wifi. Sony didn't!

Answer
You can send wireless TO the PS3

I don't know what you need with AT&T...either a wireless router or a different modem that has wireless built in. But you can connect to the internet with the PS3. I do with my PS3. I had to connect it to the internet to upgrade the firmware on it so I could watch the newer BluRay movies and we just signed up for Netflix. But I don't think you can SEND a wireless signal from it to your other tv in the living room. You would have to physically move and connect the PS3 to that tv. So get the wireless router or whatever and then move the PS3 or buy another PS3.
