Go.Video hooked to pc problems

Jan 14, 2006 9:34AM PST

Hello again,
You helped so much on last problem, I Wanted see if you had any suggestions on this one!I have Go.Video VR4940 DVD Recorder + VCR, hooked to my PC, to make a DVD from VCR tapes. I was only viewing them through the pc monitor, for editing them. It worked great to Edit the tapes. Then put DVD in pc to add graphics & text to make a DVD for our dance class.. It worked great, until I unplugged it to add a second VCR....To copy tape to tape.....
When I hooked the Go.video back up I got a Scrambled picture...Like something has been blocked...a Negative, but colored bright red, blue & yellow, with a black line that running through it...The voice is fine .. You can see people moving around, but not clear. My brother built my pc & thought I had just hooked it back wrong...So he rehooked it up....Same problem...we don't know if it's being blocked by Go. Video or my video card.... I have uninstalled the video card a couple of times trying to see if that was problem, didn't help. Do you have any idea what to do?
I have,
AMD Athlon(tm)XP 2500+
1.85 Gig 512 ram 127 gig HD
ATI All-in-Wonder VE PCI video card
Windows XP home
GO.Video VR4040
Thank You,
Karenabotta

Go.Video hooked to pc problems

I think you are saying that the A/V outputs from the Go Video are hooked to the A/V inputs of the ATI card??
This way you watch or capture the video on the PC.
How did you hook in the 2 second VCR??? You didn't say . John

Don't have second vcr connected anymore

I was plugging a VCR to my DVD-VCR burner, wich was connected to my pc... Trying to copy tape to tape.... The VCR didn't work well, so i gave up on that and went back to my old setup.Which was Using the ATI imput adapter, A purple cord...With this I could only watch DVD or VCR in my pc. Just for editing ... In other words I used it like a TV.
When I plugged it back up, I couldn't get it to show a DVD or VCR. What I got was, what looks like to me is, a scrambled channel on a cable network....Dark, With bright primary colors ...You can see the people sometimes but not clear....Also a black vertical line goes throught it every so often....
Yes the A/V outputs on Go video to ATI imput adapters.
Hope this is clear...
Karen
