Question

GMail will not load on mobile phone

Oct 12, 2012 10:55AM PDT

I cannot access my GMail account on my Samsung mobile phone for several days now. I have never had a problem with this previously, and GMail always loaded promptly. Other email accounts, e.g. Yahoo Mail, load fine, & there is nothing wrong with my phone. Was on the phone with Verizon tech support for a long time, and they finally decided the problem is with GMail. But GMail offers no tech support whatsoever. Have found others complaining about the same problem in a GMail forum on Google, but no help has been forthcoming. Anyone know anything about this? I may have to cancel my GMail account if I can't get this problem fixed. Another example of what's wrong with Google??

Did you try using the web page to get at the email?

Sadly, given that I can't look at your phone I can't trouble shoot it. And I find most folk loathe to pay for support.

I think that's wrong too.

Is your gmail account associated with an email application on your phone ?

if so, the best thing is to delete the gmail account on your phone and create a new one, rentering your gmail username and password. (i mean by that the configuration related to your gmail account, not the actual gmail account)

I have an iPhone 4 and Gmail does problems sometimes with the iOS mail application. I have to cancel the Gmail account on the mail application and create a new one for it to work again.

FIXED!

Actually the problem resolved itself a few days ago without me doing anything. Google must have fixed this, maybe after getting complaints from many GMail users. Anyway, it's all working now just like before. Thanks.
