gmail running in enabled Internet Explorer Compatibility Vie

hi my gmail email account has just started to say i have enabled Internet Explorer Compatibility View.i have looked into the tools option Compatibility View on explorer and the gmail web is not listed so how can i disable this function ,i have looked on line for answers but all say remove the web site from Compatibility View ,, has any body also had this problem thanks

1. Does it hurt your gmail experience (wrong lay-out, less functionality)?
2. Try it in another Windows account (e.g. the Guest account). Same message or no such message?
Once the answer to #2 is known, we can suggest a solution.

hi thanks for reply, no it does not effect the running of gmail just a red box to dismiss ,Compatibility view, just strange this starting to happen . i was not sure whether to reinstall explorer and gmail
i;m running windows 8 . i thought of installing explorer 11 but it needs me to install windows updates first ,it will take hours

its has ties to the OS and could cause more issues. You can download Chrome and use chrome for Gmail since they are both Google products.
