Gmail... Cookies issue

Feb 19, 2005 7:16PM PST

Hi.
Well i got an email from gmail asking me to create an email there. and i did following the link given thru that invitation. After creating the email i tried to go to Gmail.com and here is the problem:

---------------Problem---------
Gmail requires cookies to be enabled

Cookies seem to be disabled in your browser. Gmail requires cookies to be enabled in order to operate.

To use Gmail, enable cookies by changing your browser's Preferences or Options. If you have a third-party cookie manager, you will have to configure it to allow cookies from Gmail.

After enabling cookies, try again.
--------------------------EndProblem-----------

I tried every single way i know from Decreasing my security level to the least and my Pricacy to the most public still no use. I even shutdown ZoneAlarm which i don't think has anything to do with it and still no luck.

Can any one help me?
Thanks,
ZiMAD

Brave. Why not stick with your ISP?

1. Please note that just above the text editor (where you enter a question on the forum) is the following paragraph, and if certain information is not present in your question, our reply may not be very helpful:

Tip: If you are asking for help to troubleshoot a computer-related problem, please be sure to include all the necessary information (ie: operating system, model number, hardware, software, etc) that will help others identify your problem for a speedy resolution.

Note: You have the option of using the hyperlink "Edit My Profile" on the right side of the main page to fill in applicable system information so that it is available.

2. Follow the outline described in "How to Manage Cookies in Internet Explorer 6 (Q283185)" for cookie control, and you may completely clear the entire cookie folder as explained in the Q278835 link.

My cookies are enabled. Why am I getting an error message?

If you're receiving an error message that says,
''In order to login to Gmail, your browser must be set to allow javascript to set cookies'', we suggest the following:

Open Internet Explorer, and click 'Tools' along the top of your browser window.

Select 'Internet Options...,' and click the 'Security' tab at the top of the dialog box.

Click 'Trusted sites,'

and then click 'Sites...'

Enter 'https://www.google.com'
in the 'Add this Web site to the zone:' field,
and click 'Add.'

Then enter 'https://gmail.google.com,'

and click 'Add.'

Click 'OK' to save your changes.
