Hot glue works pretty well and if you choose the right one you can still remove the cover pad later. Double sided tape works fine too on the usual cover pads.

Since I can't see the parts I can't tell you. I'd try double sided tape first since it's removable and we can try again for the perfect look.

It depends

If the surface is cratered and craggy then thicker is better. If it's on some cell phone I try to find thin stuff. I make get creative and try an Exacto knife to scrape the tape glue off the tape and apply that onto the surface. But all this is more about you being creative and deciding what works best for the job at hand.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
