Question

Glitches/Artifacts On Video Playback

Probably a very easy question for you, but I'm getting these glitches and screen artifacts every now and then for seconds at a time on YouTube and most other forms of video playback.

It happens in a few different browsers I've tried and it also happens regardless of whether I'm plugged in or low on battery etc.

Any input at all would be nice, so many thanks in advance even if you're not quite sure.

Answer
That looks like a failing GPU.

I respect your privacy and won't pry for machine details here. Your choice about that.

One last idea. Google "Disable Hardware Acceleration in Chrome" and give that a shot too.

I have one quick corollary to that if you may:

Would it necessarily be a faulty GPU if this is a problem I have not seen for a while and have never seen while playing video games?
