1. Consider testing the RAM of such machines.
The only passing answer is ZERO errors regardless of the time run.

2. Video, motherboard and printer drivers must be up to date.

3. All pests and parasites that your Antivirus doesn't deal with "because its not a virus" must be eliminated. My stance on this issue is quite firm and unyielding. I run into it daily with "Tech" cleaning machines up brought in for repair hourly...

If one does encounter an issue, its always been damage done by the MALWARE. The most common issue being Layered Service Provider replacement which you can use LSPFIX (Hint: use http://www.google.com to find).

4. Windows 98's repair tools. Use of SFC could find an incorrect/corrupt file.

5. Share with the forum MORE DETAILS. RAM, contents of the config.sys, autoexec.bat files, etc...

In closing, I used Timeline some 10 years ago. Good to hear they are still around.
