glf file extension

May 21, 2005 10:22AM PDT

Help someone please. I have a very important document that windows xp cannot open. The extension is a "glf". If someone could tell me where to get a download to run and how to execute it I would be greatly appreciative. And let me add that I am a novice user.
Thanks, kindbyrd.

ok. I tried that download and it did not open the document. but I am wondering if there is such a thing as a "glf" file. Or did my sender make a mistake. Maybe he ment to put "gif", since I see no extension as "glf" listed in irfanview. Any ideas on that? Have you heard of a "glf".

when Windows put up the error message it referred to this site. but when I downloaded the latest version of this program Windows then warned me about installing and opening the program. So I uninstalled it. I'm sure you can understand my fear.

Yes, I know gif.

It's possible the file is corrupt. Is it on a web site somewhere for others to look at and see if it is?

corrupt file

It should not be corrupt. It is actually a letter that written and sent to me from a school principal to copy and snail mail to business and community leaders for a charity event.

Just one thing.

By this point if you've read the supplied links you now know what a GIF is. It is not commonly used to write a letter in but is an image or picture.

Since you didn't catch on, either you didn't research the supplied links (shame) or needed someone to just spell it out for you.

No known word processor stores its content as a .GIF.

If has been used as a graphical image to be sent via email if I scanned it in with a scanner.

NOT a GIF but a GLF.

In lower case it would be all too easy to read such as a gif or glf. The font hides easy recognition of the extension.

And your post in another forum told it better than you first posted here.

Since it's an oddball extension try... asking them what they created it with.
