hardware and no install disks can test the installer's ability to research and find the needed drivers. If the machine can be ID'd as to manufacturer and model, you may be able to access the needed software via the web. The alternative is to view the individual cards and their chipsets, then pop them into Google.
OK folks this is a bit different.
I was given the PC after an office revamp.
The PC has 2000 NT and requires a password. However I don?t want the data that maybe on the HD all I need is to retain the modem USB and any other drivers; and then install Windows ME.
I have my original ME disks.
My question is can I use my startup disk and just go ahead putting ME on and will the drivers be available. If it will work that way could I then erase or format the original 2000 NT.
Any help appreciated, gerihatric
